Hi there. (UPDATE POST)

I'm quite sorry for neglecting this blog. I am most definitely not dead, just a while ago I had moved onto mainly posting updates via the bird app and YT Community Posts because it was a lot easier for me to update there for some reason. (Maybe because it felt like I had to make formal posts here on tumblr due to its format? Like this one?) But I am still greatly sorry for neglecting my audience on Tumblr, which I know is how a lot discovered my project (and who i hope are still around... haha...) So yes, it's been a few years since the prologue, and I am very sorry 'bout that. I had a lot going on in my personal life that slowed stuff down as I am the only one working on the production of art/editing/scripting besides the VAs and my proofreader(s), so when I slow down, everything does.

Here's an update for those not following me on other avenues:

By this point, the prologue sprites are quite some years old and not up to my current standards, as well as being really low resolution so it was obvious when I blew them up. I also played RAINCODE and Komatsuzaki's new style with the rimlighting inspired me and made me jealous and so In order to satisfy my own creative needs and to give these characters the best I think I can do I made the executive decision to start a whole castwide sprite revamp.

Here's an example. If you are following me on my other channels you will know that I am almost done with the full revamp sets with only a few characters left to fully finish all their edits. I will be slowly migrating most of the update posts/art I have been doing to here as well.

I hope for the people who have patiently waited and are still interested to please allow me some more time to make CH1 the best it possibly can be.

To add on to describing my journey, Chapter 2 threw me for SUCH a fucking loop god help me

First of all I love Desuhiko but his dialogue and actions kept coming at me with the absurdity and also concerning nature, it didn't help that I played a good bit of the investigation and mystery labyrinth in a call with a friend so there were jokes that piled on top of that

Second, the conclusion to the mystery labyrinth genuinely had an emotional effect on me, it was just so sombre i just hrhghhrhg

And then the end stretch where everytime I thought the chapter was gonna end another cutscene came and ANOTHER CUTSCENE AND ANOTHER AND IT JUST KEPT INCREASING IN ???HELP FACTOR

LIKE. THE SUBMARINE GETS BLOWN UP. THEN WE GET YOMI GLOATING ABOUT IT. MARTINA SUPPOSEDLY GETS CRUSHED. CASUAL BACKSTORY LORE DROP. THEN YUMA WAKES UP IN A FANCY ASS ROOM. THEN WE MEET SOME MASKED GUY. EACH TIME I THOUGHT THE CHAPTER WOULD END IT JUST FUCKING WOULDNT AND GOT MORE ????

Point is. Chapter 2.

On the more positive side I liked seeing Desuhiko being more sympathetic and having his own reservations about the conclusion of the msytery labyrinth, as compared to Halaras coldness and logic-above-all-else mindset (Not to trash on Halara, I love them), plus after that getting a scene where Yuma is upgraded from Rookie? SO SWEET. Desuhiko and Yuma are such bros <33

Last I played I was on Ch3 and I left off after being put on the camera mission from The Resistance, tbh meeting them made me kind of pumped because I feel like the plot is laying down some groundwork for interesting themes and messages and I hope they'll develop and conclude nicely

I also went around the areas to do the sidequests/requests and talked to an NPC which mentioned Seths noticeable disappearance, so it seems hes gone for good and that makes me sad </3

Me and my friends are playing Danganronpa: Lapse >:]

We're at the start of chapter three and we're kinda in love rn.. We obviously do voice acting and since the cast is comprised of 12 from what we've seen it was easy to split amongst us with 4 per person :D

I'm Kanon, Missy, Art and Ashley :3 we have such stupid voices for them but they're the only ones I can associate them with ..

Kanon has an annoyed posch accent that I used for Sirius when playing Witchs Heart with them as well

Missy is.. very british

Art is just my normal voice but super energetic

Ashley has a cowboy accent because,, horse girl

We didn't bother searching up nationalities beforehand which was bothersome when we gave someone else a British accent who suddenly started speaking French 😭😭

Anyways danganronpa Lapse is peak..

Here's just random thoughts that contain some spoilers until ch3 under the cut

So so far we've played until the bad end from ch3 and... omg that caught us off guard.

We live a while away from each other, so we can't get together as much as we want. When we do hang out, we love playing visual novels and doing stupid voices over them. We've played Yttd, Witchs Heart, a bit of Ace Attorney, In Stars and Time and Raincode like this :D ( feel free to share some recommendations of visual novels with some larger main casts for us to play :3 )

So rambling aside God that bad end scared the shit out of us. My house is close to a train station so a bit before the train arrived the others had packed up and we were kinda addicted so we decided to stretch a little bit and play one more scene. Suddenly the fucking light switch off and the mc just fcking dies?? Jumpscare. Then it said Kanon lost and while walking to the station we could.not.stop yapping about that ending. What did Kanon lost mean? Was it her who killed the mc or someone else? (Don't answer this btw lmao)

Anyways aside from that, other thoughts. When we saw the chapter title for chapter 3 and the cg that accompanied it we immediately pointed out it depicted a marigold. A marigold being Kanon's flower. Super suspicious.... We're afraid she'll be either the victim or the murderer this chapter. It was the same with Pandora in the first chapter with the French title and stuff.

Before that we were speculating that maybe the creator might throw a curveball and have Echo kill someone while not in the right heads pace after Ashley's death. When the whole scene with Missy and the Dagger appeared we were convinced that they would. Bur they seem to have recovered?? Maybe I'll swallow my words later when we continue playing though..

We are convinced that Forte will be killed at some point and that Sei will kill someone. Not for any particular reason except that's just the vibes we got?

Damn we're missing Cyrus rn.. he and his stupid name (when we saw the name Cyrus Suryc we immediately said: evil, and we were right, kinda)

So when we play games we first go through the roster of characters and sort who voices who among ourselves. This unintentionally lead to some spoilers a lot of the time. Like Pandora's sister being listed among the character roster despite her not having appeared yet and us thinking Zero was just some participant when he's actually the monokuma of this game kinda.

Anyways so this is our character sorting. Just calling them by their online aliases:

If you have played the game, you've probably noticed thar our division is terrible 😭 2 of my characters have murdered 2 Mag's and Ketchups characters are all alive and well (tho we have no idea where Pandora's sister is)

Also damn we were in super denial about it being Art in ch1. He rly didn't seem like he would die this early. Again, based off of nothing but vibes from us lmao. We basically called Ashley right away when we found out she was alive. We haven't found the third victim yet, we first went with the Lyle and Kanon group which led to our unfortunate demise 😢 if the third victim is anyone other then Kanon then were certain she was the killer but if it's not we have no clue. We like to bet who is the killer before the chapter even starts so we all got our money on Echo this time but now that they're recovering we're not so sure anymore.. We'll see

Okay, ratings of Raincode's chapters cases so far from A to E. I'm on ch2 rn

Ch0 case: B. It's a great opening case, and the method was super cool! The only downside is that I was expecting the charadters involved in the case to live.

Ch1 case: A. I LOVED THIS CHAPTER AND CASE DUDE. First, Halara S tier. Second, the double culprit. Third, the smart methods. It's one of the best cases in the game.

raincode is good so far btw im really enjoying it . don’t know why i put off buying it for so long but i just finished ch1 and i don’t really have any complaints except for this part in the investigation portion where an extra halara spawned (?) so i was walking around and having cutscenes with an extra halara following me (??????) they eventually disappeared so its okay but that was a fascinating glitch

REALLY good performance from Ito and Ogata. it sounded like they had a lot of fun with some of those lines

Kako’s fixation with technology is adorable. I know it’s probably because she’s never had anything high tech in her life, but it’s just so cute.

kako obsessing over the remote operated shutters reminds me of when yuma wouldn’t stop playing with the shutters in raincode ch1. this is just further proof of my “the tsukumos are the children of yuma and shinigami” theory

her starry eyed sprites are so cute and the way ima doesn’t say anything just lets her have her fun that’s so cute that’s so cute that’s so cute

their matching dislikes being things that hurt each other is just so cute. im so happy that Kako is just as protective of her brother as he is of her. they’re so sweet

all of Ima’s likes being variations on Kako. that’s hilarious. I gotta see what it says in JP tmrw

Kako likes “complex” flavors? what kind of complex? a brother complex? a guy with a sister complex?

seeing a girl die and Ima’s only commentary is that Kako shouldn’t watch snuff. oh ima what have you done in your past

that combined with him saying earlier that negotiating with kidnappers is bad. it makes me think he’s in a mafia or a gang or something. meanwhile Kako gets to live happily and not do anything shady

Kako’s fascination with sirei is sooo cute. someone get her a toy robot or something. also her side facing sprite is the cutest thing ive ever seen. her orgy line was INSANE I can’t believe ima only had a mild reaction

their rooms are next to each other which is just adorable. im sure they end up sharing :) im sure nothing odd happens when these two share a bed

when they ask a perfectly valid question about why they’re the only two who know each other and takumi just says they’re weird. LMAO. what

kako consistently telling ima to not bring up their time in TRC is interesting. they just left. I feel like she wants to stay at the academy forever with all the free food and make sure ima doesn’t ever have to do shady stuff again. but ima doesn’t mind wherever he is if he’s with her, so he doesn’t get the problem with bringing up TRC.

them trying whatever food they want seems like it’ll happen the whole game. they’re hilarious

im really happy Kako has a strong personality too. in the PV mostly just ima talked, but Kako has a lot of dialogue too. like she was the first to say sirei’s badge was his. i wanna see her solving mysteries sighhhhhhhh

these two really just do whatever the hell they want. I hope they do each other. Sighs longingly……

the demo has given me two very good fic ideas and so you can expect those at some point thanks. I promise I will write other pairs but you see this one is just superior

It's that time again. I did one with DRA/SDRA2 so naturally I make one with Raincode when I found out they make some of 'em in the website, so here we go-

Favorite list first:

funny how I put the other WDO ch1 members on yellow section except Pucci and the old dude (I already forgot his name fuck-), don't flame me aight I'm coping that they're still alive 🥲 //lh

As much as I wanted to like Kurumi more, she still strikes me for being too basic character.... I wish there's something more to her rather than just being Yuma's support??? Hopefully the sequel later on did her justice.

Fav ships:

Haven't really found any favorite one yet because I ain't crazy much about them yet (hell even Yuma x Shinigami ones sometimes I consider them being platonic rather than being romantic).

Again, I don't mind seeing the ships in light green-green section. But it's just not my preference.

For fav chapters:

People would argue that chapter 0 feels so dragged out and loses its charms considering it's supposed to be tutorial chapter, but I say it's a fuckin' good tutorial chapter and the whole murder case doesn't feel too obvious like most tutorial investigation case! Plus, it's not often there's a whole massacre arson murder lol.

To be honest Chapter 3 isn't that bad, but isn't that good either. It's just average investigation murder case and it kinda fall weak on the ending conclusion rip. I don't really need to discuss Ch4 and Ch5 because it's perfection.

important note about raincode: a minor mechanic in the game is collectable personal events with the other detectives. you start getting these in ch1 but honestly i would wait until ch2 to start cracking them open since its deliberately unclear when they are set, and ch1 takes place very close to the start of the plot, obvi, so they track a little better when you've had a bit more time with the cast. however u can also do whatever you want forever.

It was 55€ for me but its very worth it.
